Practicing mindfulness is like going to the gym.

Starting with lighter weights, gradually, you work your way up to lift 200 pounds.

Building a mindfulness practice is similar. The more you do it, the more you strengthen your mindfulness muscle and gain the ability to respond rather than react.

Over time you cultivate skills like compassion, resilience, gratitude and forgiveness.

But like starting a new workout routine, building the habit of being mindful doesn’t happen overnight.

Without the right guidance and accountability, it’s easy to fall back into old routines.

Here’s the great news: it only takes 6 to 8 weeks of consistent practice to change your brain. You strengthen the neural pathways of the areas that you intentionally nourish with your attention.

We’re here to guide you in nourishing the behaviours that help you become your best self.

According to research, mindfulness practice can change the neurobiology of your brain after just 8 weeks. We’re here to guide you during this time to ensure that you stick with your practice and to answer any questions along the way.

How it works

  1. When you book your first session I’ll send you a questionnaire to complete about what you’d like to achieve during our time working together. At least 6 sessions recommended.
  2. During the first session, we’ll discuss your overall goals and challenges. I’ll help you to create your “sanctuary space” (one that will support your mindfulness practice and sense of well-being). I’ll guide you through a mindfulness practice to help you get grounded and focused. And we’ll discuss action steps you can take to achieve your desired outcome.
  3. Each hour-long session will include a mindfulness meditation or other mindfulness practice. I’ll provide a safe, compassionate space for you to share your challenges and we’ll talk about potential strategies to help you cope with them. You’ll finish each session with goals for the week ahead so you can take action. And, I’ll share some of my personal favorite resources (books, apps, websites, etc)!
  4. By the end of our time together, you’ll have a toolkit of effective strategies and mindfulness techniques to help you feel calmer and more focused as you continue your journey.
